Two nights ago we had the great privilege of volunteering at the Atlanta premiere of the Stuck documentary. From the Both Ends Burning website:
"Stuck is a new award-winning documentary, produced by Both Ends Burning, that uncovers the real-life stories of children and parents navigating through the international adoption system."
The founder of Both Ends Burning and the executive Director for "Stuck", Craig Juntunen, discovered the inefficiency of International adoption and how this complex problem basically leaves children all over the world stuck, growing up in institutions/orphanages, while thousands of families wait to bring these children into their homes.
I found the documentary to be informative, engaging, and heartbreaking. I left knowing that each of us can make a difference in this world as we stand up for truth and justice and speak for the voiceless.
Atlanta was the 32nd stop of the 62 day tour which culminates in Washington. The tour is spreading the word that "growing up in a family is a child's most basic human right", and how "in many cases that is denied due to a dysfunctional adoption system"
The tour is also collecting signatures to present in Washington. Here is the petition: http://www.change.org/petitions/make-a-child-s-right-to-a-family-our-priority
